ClearaScan Data Deletion Policy

ClearaScan provides users with the ability to request deletion of their personal data at any time in accordance with applicable privacy laws and app store requirements.

This policy applies to:

1. Your Right to Request Deletion

You may request deletion of your ClearaScan account and associated personal data at any time. Deletion requests apply to personal data linked to your registered account.

2. How to Request Data Deletion

You may request deletion through one of the following methods:

  • Option 1: In-App RequestOpen the ClearaScan app and navigate to: Settings → Legal → Request Data Deletion. Follow the instructions and confirm your registered account email.
  • Option 2: Website RequestSubmit a request via: https://clearascan.com/contact-us/
  • Option 3: Email RequestEmail: support@clearascan.comSubject line: Data Deletion RequestPlease include:
    • Your registered account email address
    • Confirmation that you wish to permanently delete your account and associated personal data
    We may request reasonable verification of identity before processing deletion.

3. What Data Will Be Deleted

Upon verified request, we will permanently delete:

  • Account information (name, email, login credentials)
  • Allergy and dietary profile data
  • Product scan history
  • Stored scan images associated with your account
  • Device and usage data linked directly to your account

Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.

4. What We May Retain

We may retain minimal data where legally required or reasonably necessary for:

  • Legal or regulatory compliance
  • Security and fraud prevention
  • Dispute resolution
  • Enforcement of our Terms

Any retained data will be limited in scope and securely stored.

5. Processing Time

We aim to process verified deletion requests within 30 days. You will receive confirmation once deletion has been completed.

6. Effect of Deletion

Once deletion is complete:

  • Your account will no longer be accessible
  • Personal data will be permanently removed (except where legally required to retain)
  • Deleted data cannot be recovered
